Out in The Dark choreographed by Oriane Paras is a solo dance performance performed by Aline Combe.
The work explores the phenomenon of absence. Absence as the experience of lacking something, or someone. Absence as the experience of missing something, or someone. Absence as a feeling of disappearance. the audience will enter a dark room, together we will meet the safety of darkness, interrupted by moments of brightness.
What is happening if I don’t see you? What is happening if I don’t see you? What is happening if I don’t see you? What is happening if I don’t see? What is happening if I don’t? What is happening if?
I received a grant from Nordic Culture Point for an artist residency in the Faroe Islands with Durita Dahl Andreassen.
Residency Name: We Will Have Misunderstanding (Everyday).
During this residency, two artists came together to support each other, driven by the belief that it is too challenging to be alone in a studio during a residency. We decided to create this co-residency with a well-defined schedule, specifying times for mutual assistance, active listening, independent work, and mutual influence. Durita focused on expanding a piece she had previously presented. Meanwhile, I, Aline, worked on choreographing a monologue about shame, exploring how to protect oneself when expressing something deeply important yet wanting it to remain incomprehensible to others.
